Everyone loves a teenage Malamute! Especially a big fella like Tyler.

If you can resist being dazzled by his good looks, you’ll soon discover he has all the charms and challenges that any good young Mal should possess.

Tyler is a friendly boy that serves his own best interests first and foremost.  He is happy to work in an equal partnership with a capable, confident owner, but will throw his weight around (figuratively and literally) if he thinks he can get away with it. He walks nicely on lead and listens to direction, so long as the person at the end of the lead is consistent and clear, but be prepared to have your shoulder pulled out if you're not!  Any family that adopts Tyler must be willing to commit to ongoing obedience training to maintain his good manners.

Tyler likes to dig the usual hip hole in the yard to lay in, so if you value your neat garden and lawn, he might not be the dog for you.  Being a large dog, he will require a yard of reasonable size with natural grass and garden areas, and with adequate shelter from the sun and rain.  He has grown out of his puppy chewing, but may still be tempted if an opportunity presents itself and he hasn’t been for his walk.

Like many Malamutes, Tyler can be selective with his doggy companions.  For this reason, he needs to be the only pet in the house. Due to his size and youthful vigor, he is only suitable for homes with secondary school aged children.

This big goofy boy loves his cuddles and attention.  He is looking for a home experienced with Malamutes that appreciates that a heavy hand or attitude isn’t needed to develop a wonderful bond and respectful life together.

Tyler is not available for interstate adoption, and definitely does not suit rural properties, apartment living or properties with a small yard. Malamute experience is essential.
